Fire Water Tank Waterproofing – Sydney

Alcoa Fire Water Tank Re-lining

170m2 Applied to steel and geotextile

The Situation: The steel tank used to store water for fire-fighting purposes on the Yennora Alcoa site was leaking and in need of repairs.

The Solution: After repairs were carried out to the structure of the tank and its footing bed, a tack coat of a cold spray-applied membrane was sprayed on the bottom of the tank and covered with a layer of geotextile. This base was then sprayed with a 2mm thick layer of a cold spray-applied membrane, which was also continued 2 metres up the sides of the tank. This provided a waterproof lining which completely sealed the water storage area of the tank.
