Perlastic coatings

Perlastic products are a family of corrosion protection products for industrial applications over metal or concrete. They come in three forms:

• Perlastic SG – Spray-Grade Perlastic;
• Perlastic RG – Roller-Grade Perlastic; and
• Perlastic TG – Trowel-Grade Perlastic.

Perlastic SG is a two part, cold spray-applied, seamless, polymer modified bituminous membrane (essentially a synthetic rubber), engineered to resist the corrosion / chemical attack of the substrate.  It will adhere to clean or rusted metal without extensive surface preparation.

The products are water borne, environmentally sensitive and contain no VOC’s or offensive odours.  They have exceptional bonding properties to most surfaces including metal, concrete and geotextiles and provide excellent protection against such things as salt and acid sulphates.

Primary uses of Perlastic products include waterproof and gas vapour membranes, but they have any number of applications including, but not limited to:

• Conventional waterproofing: below grade walls and slabs, under-slab, between slab, and at-grade waterproofing membranes;
• Corrosion protection on steel and concrete structures;
• Potable water liners: canals, ponds, tanks and reservoirs;
• Repairs to leaking structures: roofs, swimming pools, water tanks;
• Brownfield liner/membranes: contaminated soils, landfills and methane gas vapour;
• As well as specialist roofing applications such as Green Roof tanking and sealing of problem roofs including asbestos.

Because it is cold sprayed using simple equipment, Perlastic SG lends very well to sites which may be difficult to access or have complex protrusions and very large areas which require quick laying/curing and seamless application such as dams, water courses, proofing membranes and so on.
