Basement Waterproofing – Beachfront House

22 Iluka Rd, Palm Beach, NSW

326m2 applied to concrete walls and floor

Iluka Road - beachfront house basement waterproofed with a cold spray-applied membrane

The Situation: A new beachfront house was to be constructed with a basement below the water table.

The Solution: The concrete basement walls, floor and entry ramp were sprayed with a nominal 2mm coating of a cold spray-applied membrane to form a seamless waterproofing membrane. Geofabric was laid over the floor as a protective layer under the concrete top-coat. When the iron support beams were later removed from the walls, the gaps left were patched with a trowel-grade membrane product, which adhered to the remainder of the membrane, forming a complete seal over the inside of the basement.
