Treated Water Tank Waterproofing

Adelaide Desalination Plant Reservoirs, Lonsdale, SA

635m² Applied to joints of two pre-cast concrete slab reservoirs

The Situation: Two new pre-cast concrete slab Treated Water Tanks were being constructed as part of the Adelaide Desalination Project and required waterproofing along the joints between the concrete slab sections.

The Solution: A cant of Trowel-Grade membrane product was applied to form a coving at the wall/floor joint inside the water tanks. A cold spray-applied membrane was then sprayed at a nominal thickness of 2mm to all joints, extending approximately 500mm either side of the joints. This formed a complete seal over the joints, which was safe for use in a potable water setting such as this.
