3100m² Applied to corrugated steel plate tunnel

The Situation: The original Reclaim Tunnel was being extended and a new tunnel being built during the Carborough Downs CHPP Expansion Project. The new tunnel sections required a waterproof and corrosion resistant lining to their external surfaces.

The Solution: A 2mm coat of a cold spray-applied membrane was spray-applied to the outer surfaces of the new tunnel and extension sections, forming a seamless waterproof membrane closely adhered to the steel surfaces. A geotextile layer was then placed over the membrane to protect it from damage during the backfilling operation.
