Isaac Plains Coal Valve Tunnel

The Situation: A Reclaim Tunnel was being constructed for a new coal mine in the Central Queensland coal fields, and it required waterproofing to protect it from both leakages and rust.

The Solution: A tack coat of a cold spray-applied membrane was applied over joints, covered by geotextile "bandage", then all sealed with 2mm coat of the cold spray-applied membrane. The result was a smooth, even, waterproof cold spray-applied membrane surface over the entire tunnel, ready for backfilling.
